Artist Biography Updating the sound of the 70’s London streets that helped inspire The Police, Elvis Costello, and The Clash, Unlikely Alibi looks to bring a change of direction into today’s music scene. With searing guitars and screamy-singy vocals predominating today’s mainstream rock, and a new genre name popping up everyday, Unlikely Alibi simply gives you organ and guitar driven power pop with a twist of reggae. The members collectively have sold thousands of CD’s, and played hundreds of shows through-out the United States. Their proven on-stage experience has given the members the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Ben Folds, The Foo Fighters, Eve 6, and Train, to name just a few. That is the pedigree from which this band comes, and the benchmark they intend to surpass. Unlikely Alibi recently completed their debut album “At the Ready”, which is scheduled to release summer/fall 2008. Teaming up with East Coast producer King Django, at Version City studios, the band put their best foot, and best material forward. The album is a dynamic combination of driving rhythms, catchy melodies and progressions, and powerful lyrics that relate to everyone’s real life and real situations. Also featured on the album is Unlikely Alibi’s driving rock single “We Can’t” which has already hit regional radio airwaves prior to its official release on Stubborn Records. Receiving nothing but excitement and positive feedback from their crowds, the members of Unlikely Alibi have proven that they are driven and always ready for their next big step. The band keeps taking their sound and performance to the next level, proving this recently to their incredibly energetic crowd at New York City’s Knitting Factory. Unlikely Alibi was also featured on Manhattan network television this spring, and just prior to that took first prize in the regional “Whatzup Battle of the Bands” out of more than sixty bands. With all that under their belt, Unlikely Alibi is ready to begin touring again in the fall of 2008 in support of the much anticipated debut album “At the Ready”. |
